Chandelier Earrings : Jewelry 101
How to Make: Chandelier Earrings with Ear Wire and CZ Charms
Create a pair of chandelier earrings using a simple combination of ear wires, chandelier components, and CZ charms in this step-by-step guide. This design builds from a pre-made chandelier finding, allowing you to quickly assemble a multi-tiered, dangling earring without complex wire work. By adding a small drop charm, you can introduce movement and a focal point while keeping the overall construction straightforward and repeatable.
If you're more of a visual learner, we've provided a video tutorial that you'll find at the bottom of the page.
What are Chandelier Earrings?
Chandelier earrings are ornate, dangling earrings characterized by a top stud or hoop from which multiple tiers of gemstones, beads, or metal components hang, resembling the structure of a chandelier.

Step-by-Step Assembly
Earring Instructions
Open the end of your ear wire end and slide the chandelier on the ear wire starting at the tip of the wire without the ball.
Close the ball end for tight finish.
Open the jump ring attached to your charm and loop with the inner ring on your chandelier.
Close your jump ring and that's it - your earring is complete!
Tips for a Professional Finish
- When opening your jump ring, grab each end with your pliers and twist one away from you and one towards you. This makes for an easy opening and doesn’t damage the ring.
Final Thoughts
Chandelier earrings offer an easy way to create a more detailed, multi-tiered design without complex assembly. By using a pre-made chandelier component, you can quickly build dimension and movement while keeping the process consistent and repeatable.
Once you’re comfortable with the technique, you can experiment with different chandelier shapes, drop placements, and stone colors to create variations. Swapping in different CZ sizes, finishes, or adding multiple drops can significantly change the overall look while using the same core method.
This approach works well for producing matching pairs or small collections, making it a practical option for both personal projects and production.
