Tutorial Tuesday: Cord Chokers

By -

Chokers have been trending for the past several seasons and it's easy to see why. The look can be worn so many different ways and can easily transition from a crewneck sweater to a swimsuit in seconds! I found this amazing diy for cord chokers, they are so simple to make and are great for layering. See below ideas from high end to low end chokers for inspiration.

What you need: (I've also linked below the components you can find on our website, WholesaleJewelrySupply.com)

1. First, measure around your neck to determine what size you need the choker to be and cut a length of cord approx. 2" longer than you want the choker to allow for knots. Most chokers are 12" long with a 3" extender chain.

2. Take one end of your cord and knot it onto a jump ring

3. Thread on any beads/charms, then knot the other end of the cord onto a jump ring. You can choose to add an end cord fastener for a more finished look.

4. Trim off any excess cord from the knots and if you wish add a small blob of glue to secure - this may also help to prevent fraying over time

5. Use pliers to attach a lobster clasp onto one of the jump rings. If you want to add an extender chain, attach this to the other jump ring and your choker is ready to wear!
