CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT- IT'S A GEM

By -

It’s a Gem! Pieces are designed to show off the beauty of natural gemstones while keeping in mind, but not slaving to the latest trends.  Katrina aims to make gorgeous semi-precious jewelry that is meant to be worn, not locked away for safe-keeping.  Her pieces are well below the price of the family jewels, but much nicer to wear than ‘off the rack’ fashion jewelry.

The collection includes fabulous statement pieces, classic strands and many multi-strand stand-outs.  Gemstone chip and nugget pieces, as well as rough and semi-polished stone have been integrated to make stunning casual jewelry.  She utilizes a large variety of semi-precious and some precious stones (she has 35 varieties of gemstone chips alone in stock at this moment).  And she has a large collection of hand polished ‘designer’ semi-precious stone pendants to offer.  It is the stones that are outstanding – so the designs are kept simple.

As for production, Katrina uses simple techniques like beading, wire-work and occasionally chain maille.  While she includes some handmade wire bails and chains, connectors and earring parts, as well as the odd wire-wrapped pendant, she generally does not make her own clasps and findings.  Katrina purchases the stones and beads, but occasionally does some stone polishing and drilling of cabs for pendants.
